Well get the next one
Title:  Well get the next one
Description:  Two friends and I rode the Atlantic to Moncton from Montreal. We were going to board a connecting VIA train at Dorval-its easier to park there than downtown-but we found out VIA did not handle riders from there to Montreal, even if connecting. The agent said hed get us on one of the two trains that ran one after the other. This one was not it. Apparently the conductor was something of a pill, and wasnt willing to take "shorts." Fortunately, the second train was a better option, and we made our connection.

All kinds
Title:  All kinds
Description:  VIA inherited a variety of RDCs from CP, including this RDC 2 with a baggage compartment. It probably came in handy. VIA ran quite a few remote area services, and the trains were a means of getting not only people, but good, to some places that were not well served by other transportation.

Taking them on
Title:  Taking them on
Description:  We had 46 or so in our group, and there were other passengers there as well, so there was quite a crush to board at Baie St Paul. The train is popular on weekends, and there were only a few empty seats. The train serves limited food and liquor, and seems to be popular for folks in the Quebec City area for a day trip up the St Lawrence, which it is in sight of most of the distance we rode it.
