Here's a good example of an Alco-Schenectady 2-8-0 Consolidation built in 1923 as Central Vermont #464. This original photo was severly degraded and heavily sepia colored but it came through fairly well when corrected showing the loco at the New London engine house. Specs - serial #65297, class N-5-a, 63" drivers, 180 psi boiler pressure, 24x32" cylinders, engine weight of 232,750 lb tractive effort of 44,763 lb. Unknown date and unknown photographer. |
