PRR 8503, ES-15M, 1964
Title:  PRR 8503, ES-15M, 1964
Description:  24th Street. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 29 November 1964. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #8503 and #8576. Both are ES-15M's built by EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each; #8503 was built in 1952, but #8576 was built in 1953. With an unidentified caboose in tow, they are about to pass under the 24th Street Bridge on their way up the Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve to Gallitzin and points West. Partially visible on the left is SLOPE Tower.
