Description:
Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken in South Amboy, New Jersey, on 28 January 1956. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #4765 and #4720. Both are P-5A's (2-C-2) "Boxcabs" and rated at 3,750 horsepower each. #4765 was built by General Electric in September of 1932 and retired in September of 1961, while #4720 was built by Baldwin-Westinghouse in November of 1932 and retired in January of 1963. Description:
Myers. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by William J. Myers that was taken in Columbia, Pennsylvania, c. 1962. Photo Caption: "P-5A Class No. 4720 at Columbia, Pennsylvania." Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4720 is a P-5A (2-C-2) built by the Baldwin-Westinghouse during November of 1932, rated at 3,750 horsepower, and retired in January of 1963 after 31 years of faithful service. It's on helper duty at the Columbia Passenger Station. Note that both pantographs are down. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Electrified Operations On The Pennsy" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (791-24).

Shown here (R to L) are eight PRR electric engines: #4720, #4708, #5689, #3915, #4704, #4768, #3900, and #3917. #4720, #4708, #4704, #4768 are P-5A's built in 1932 and rated at 3,750 horsepower each. #4720, #4708, and #4704 were built by Baldwin-Westinghouse ~ but #4768 was built by General Electric. #5689, #3915, #3900, and #3917 are B-1's built by Juniata. #5689 was built in 1934 ~ but #3915, #3900, and #3917 were built in 1926.
