The powerful 3 cylinderUP 4-12-2 ( dubbed the "Union Pacific" type) #9011 steam locomotive was built by Alco-Brooks in August of 1926 and had an unconventional 3 cylinder configuration. It's purpose was to have more power and ride better at higher speeds than previous models. This loco served until being scrapped in June of 1955. Specs - 67" drivers, impressive 220 psi boiler pressure, 27x32" high pressure cylinders & 1 27x31" low pressure cylinder, engine weight of 495,500 lb, impressive tractive effort of 96,646 lb.
