BO 2-8-2 #4162 |
Description: |
This is one of the few Lima built 2-8-2 Mikados on the B&O roster, but it was originally built in 1916 for the Cincinnati, Indianapolis & Western as their #401. The loco was acquired by B&O in 1927 and renumbered. The entire Q-2 class was scrapped by 1950. Specs - 63" drivers, 185 psi boiler pressure, 27x30" cylinders, engine weight of 294,500 lb, tractive effort of 54,588 lb. No date or location were given for the photo but with a Chicago & Alton engine in the background, it probably is either Chicago or East St Louis. Unknown photographer. |
