| Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad E9 9988A eastbound at Naperville, Illinois on May 27, 1965, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. This locomotive was built January 1956 (c/n 20539), became BN 9988 on March 2, 1970, sold to the West Suburban Mass Transit District August 18, 1972, rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen August 1973, returned as E9Ak (k = Knudsen) 9918 and was leased to the BN for operation and maintenance. It was retired October 1992. |
