KCS F units "under wire"  Editors Pick!
Four powered cab units and a couple of slugs head this KCS train which is picking up empty coal cars (after dropping off loaded ones) at the Texas Utilities Company (TXU) electric railroad interchange a few miles west of Pittsburg on the line to Shreveport. They will head west about 35 miles to drop off the cars at the lignite coal mine at Thermo, then tie up at the station in Sulphur Springs. The electric line heads north to the generating plant at Monticello and also interchanges with the ex-Cotton Belt near Winfield.
