A northbound manifest struggles upgrade out of Dunsmuir making a 1,000 foot climb in 2 miles. The train is passing a famous landmark known as the shelf deep in the canyon.

John Weber General this spot is known as the Wall, you can see the track 400ft below to the left of this photo. Tunnel 16 was back about 1000ft but was daylighted in early 60's 10/21/2011 4:57:01 AM
