Oil Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by and unidentified photographer that was taken at the Passenger Station in South Amboy, New Jersey, c. 1964. Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5773 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both are BP-20's built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. #5773 was built in August of 1948 and retired in May of 1965 after just 17 years of revenue service. Looks to me like they're being backed up to couple onto the passenger cars in the Station for another run to Bay Head Junction. Produced and distributed by FJC Products of Newport, Delaware. |
