Here is page 22 of a 64-page booklet published by Harry P. Albrecht entitled "World Famous Horseshoe Curve, Altoona, Pennsylvania Railroad." It was first issued in September of 1973. Top Photo Caption: "Top picture shows No. 6783 working a westbound job around the Curve toward Gallitzin." PRR #6783 is an M-1A (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Lima Locomotive Works during March of 1930, rebuilt in Juniata as an M-1B in January of 1947, and retired in August of 1959. Bottom Photo Caption: "M-1a No. 6713 is rolling a stock train around the Curve eastbound toward Altoona." PRR #6713 is an M-1A (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during April of 1930, rebuilt in Juniata as an M-1B in August of 1944, and retired in December of 1956 after 26 years of faithful service.
