Union Station
Union Station from the street side. In less than 2 years all passenger service would end and the removal of the building would be underway. About the time this photo was taken yours truly was sported to supper in the RR Dining Room in the Station. Pea Soup as I recall. /DL

David, Too bad Bangor was in such a big hurry to tear down the depot. I remember many days in Brewer/Bangor watching the trains along the river and paying the 5 or 10 cent toll for the bridge. Sure would of been nice to know you and Jeff back in 1969. Like the old pictures of the Maine Railways.

Great photo! I have an artist's proof of a watercolor from nearly the exact same perspective. It's titled "Bangor Memories, Union Station", by local Maine artist Paul Thibodeau, dated 1993. I picked it up a few years ago at a little gallery at the Poland Spring Resort.
