| The track I'm standing on, is the old WM Thomas Subdivision (thomas is behind me, Bayard and CUmberland ahead of me). When the MEtikki Deep Mine opened in the late 70's, the track going off to the left, called the Sincel Industrial Track, was built to serve it, and I assume the CPL was placed at this junction at that time. Once Island Creek Coal, the only customer left on the Thomas Sub after it's 1980's Chessie abandonment, closed down in the mid-1990's, the switch was straight-railed for the Sincel Industiral Track and the CPL de-activated. |
