| Chicago Aurora & Elgin Railroad coach 304 at the Laramie Street yard in Chicago, Illinois, date and photographer unknown, scanned from a 2¾X4½ print, Chuck Zeiler collection. The date is a guess, but it was sometime before September 1940, when the arched windows were blocked off. This car was built by the Niles Car and Manufacturing Company in 1906, one of nine delivered to the CA&E as numbers 300-308. It had only two traction motors (GE66B), I do not know if they were distributed one per truck or one truck was not powered. |
