Santa Claus, who looks an awful lot like Manchester engineer John Douglas, has borrowed SCL GP16 #4621
Lineville Subdivision train #587 (The Wadley Turn) is arriving from from the mountains of Alabama with Santa Claus at the controls. For many years, on the last Saturday before Christmas, the engineer of this train made it his personal mission to spread joy (and goodie bags) along his run. SCL GP16 #4621 was built 9/1960 as Seaboard Air Line GP18 #408, later became SCL #1064 and was rebuilt to GP16 standards in May 1980
