There wasn't much I could do to save this image, but it's the only shot I have of this locomotive before it was rebuilt in 1966. As for the raised sheets of metal items in the background I can only speculate; it appears to me that they were plates fashioned to drop down on a locomotive's roof to allow safe passage for shop forces. I'll entertain any other speculation. |
