Built by Baldwin in July 1911 as 2-8-2 class Q-1 #4111 with 24X32 cylinders and 64" drivers, it was rebuilt by the B&O in 1916 as class Q-1aa (26X32 cylinders, same road number) and again in 1924 as a 4-6-2 class P-1c number 5043 with 26X28 cylinders and 74" drivers.
