Built by Electro-Motive Division in November of 1952, this 1500hp unit served most in passenger service around Jersey City. It merged into Conrail as #5902 and then purchased by NJDOT before being transferred to NJ Transit ownership in December of 1976. This diesel was one of 2 that pulled the last passenger train on the Higbridge Branch. After retiring, it was donated to the United RR Historical Museum where it was repainted in its original CNJ colors. |
