In 1976, we went to DC for a week, mostly doing the typical tourists stuff. Rather than drive around, however, we decided it would be easier to park somewhere and take the subway around the city, which was(and is) a good idea. The system at the time was basic, as it had opened only several months earlier, only a start on the great transit system it has turned into. Dad got this shot of a train at one of the cavernous stations that were typical of the line. |
