Thanks so much, Tim and Terrence! After 8 years of PC before Conrail, yes I was surprised to still see NYC paint schemes! That made this E-unit special. I saw a funeral train in Dec. '76 with a couple ex-PRR E-7's in Tuscan red, but the PRR was gone and the paint was shot. There was a NYC E-7B though, too, and it's paint was still pretty decent. With no shortage of PC black paint, I wonder what was special to PC to keep the old NYC units in their original paint?

Thanks, Mike. There was not much room in the tightly packed deadlines, but this E-unit was poised off by itself just waiting for pictures.
