PRR 8967, BS-16M, 1960
Good Day. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad property in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 25 July 1960. Shown here is PRR engine #8967, a BS-16M built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1951 and rated at 1,600 horsepower. This photo was taken near the Yard Master's Office, at the very eastern end of South Juniata Street. The Samuel Rea Shop is visible in the background. #2 of 12.

Jerry LaBoda General I hate to say it but no single-engined Baldwins ever put out that much... the classification is deliberate, BS-16M is for Baldwin Road Swicher 16oo HP. 6/9/2016 1:38:44 AM
Thomas C. Ayers General Jerry LaBoda ~> I stand corrected . . . caption revised from "2,400" to "1,600" . . . thanks! 6/9/2016 7:12:18 PM
