Magna Carta. Here is an original photo that I took at the Pennsylvania Railroad Passenger Station in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 29 June 1961. Shown here are PRR engines #8610 and #8609. Both are APS-24MS's built by the American Locomotive Company in 1956 and rated at 2,400 horsepower each. These locomotives pulled the "Magna Carta Special" to various locations in the Pittsburgh Region. The PRR's 12th Street Shop buildings are also visible on the left. |
