This is 9412 (1st), s/n 46537. This unit wrecked in Laramie, WY on 11/18/1995 and was scrapped. The 9412 in existence today, 9412 (2nd), is a so-called "Frankenstein rebuild", a wreck rebuild from the remains of 2 wrecked units: UP C40-8 9274 for the frame and CSXT C40-8W 7770 for the wide cab. Since the rebuilt 9274 had a wide cab, it was renumbered to 9412 (2nd) to fill in the vacant 9412 because 9274 is in the standard cab number range. However, it kept the serial number as the original 9274, which is 45823. The second and current 9412 was sold to GECX in 2019, so that one is off the UP roster too.
