Tyrone. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Tyrone, Pennsylvania, on 19 September 1964. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #2505, #7231-B, and #9691. #2505 is a GF-25 built by General Electric in 1962 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #7231-B is an EFS-17M built by EMD in 1959 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. #9691 is an EH-15 built by EMD in 1949 and rated at 1,500 horsepower. They are pulling a 129-car eastbound mixed cargo freight train with caboose #477819. This photo was taken just West of the Tyrone Station. |
