| Sunday. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad locomotives in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 02 May 1965. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #6307 and #6304. Both are AF-27's built by the American Locomotive Company in 1965 and rated at 2,700 horsepower each. They have just passed under the 24th Street Bridge on their way to East Altoona after making a helper/pusher run up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and back. Also visible on the right is a partial view of SLOPE Tower. |
