The yard crew catch a ride on the pilot of this Alco built 0-6-0 switcher. Note on the back states that this switcher is running on the Michigan Central lines in Detroit. Originally it was numbered in the 8500's. According to the August, 1940 issue of "Railroad Magazine", the specs on this loco are class B-10, 58" drivers, 180 psi boiler pressure, 21x28" cylinders, engine weight of 163,000 lb, tractive effort of 32,570 lb. |
