| This derailment took place on the Southern Railway's New Orleans Terminal Co. subsidiary between the 17th Street Canal and the I-10 underpass. The signal visible on the other side of the red CTI container prevented the derailed cars from falling down the embankment into the Metairie Cemetery.. |
