AHC. Here is an original 35mm color slide that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, during May of 1956. Shown here is the Pennsylvania Railroad's "Aerotrain" ~ built by General Motors during July of 1955 ~ on its daily roundtrip journey from New York City to Pittsburgh and back . . . only this time, it meets a pair of "Centipedes" returning to East Altoona to make yet another helper/pusher run up "The Mountain." The photographer's name and the exact date are not recorded. |
