AMTK 64, "Turboliner," 1975
Amtrak. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 2 February 1975. Shown here is Amtrak "Turboliner" #64, built by Rohr. It has paused at the Altoona Station so that passengers may disembark and board before resuming its journey up the Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve to Johnstown and points West. The converted house-trailer pictured here is Altoona's pathetic excuse for a "station." Photo taken from the 12th Street Footbridge. From the George Povall Collection.
