PRR 5500, T-1, c. 1948         
iLocomotives. Here is an image of a photo by Donald P. Campbell that was taken near Cincinnati, Ohio, c. 1948. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5500, a T-1 (4-4-4-4) "Duplex" built in Juniata during November of 1945 and retired in December of 1953 after just eight years of service. This particular locomotive is equipped with rotary continuous contour cams, and is pulling the eastbound "Cincinnati Limited" a mile or so out of Cincinnati's Union Terminal. The exact date is not recorded.
