Mid-train Helpers?
Nope. PW 3901 and PW 4001, the eastern units on train NH-1, depart Old Saybrook in the middle of the train. The reason for this is that the 20 TLTX hoppers following the locomotives are going to be shoved into the Tilcon quarry in Branford. Instead of leaving the units on the Northeast Corridor, it would be easier to throw the switch, back the 20 hoppers down the siding, throw the switch again, and the train can leave, saving 3 or 4 minutes.
