Title:
WAB 4-8-2 #2822 - Wabash RR
Description:
Beautiful sepia tinted original photo of a 12/1930 Baldwin built Mountain-type locomotive Wabash 4-8-2 #2822 (serial #61205). I left the photo in its original sepia color as it creates a warm, nostalgic portrait of this powerful loco. The class was retired in the mid 1950's with no survivors. Wabash #2822 met up with the scrapper's torch in September of 1955 after 24 years of service to the Wabash. Specifics - 70" drivers, 235 psi boiler pressure, 27x32" cylinders, engine weight of 406,400 lb and tractive effort of 66,568 lb. The date is approximate and no photographer was listed for this beautiful portrait unfortunately.
