BNSF 1971 |
Description: |
BNSF 1971 leads a healthy cut of cars east while switching Argentine Yard, BNSF 1800 is to the right, long hood forward with a much lighter cut, one doesn't understand the size of this place until they see it in person, easily BNSF's version of Bailey Yard |

BNSF 1800 |
Description: |
When delivered to Santa Fe as SD40-2 5030 in October 1977 this EMD was assigned to high priority freights well into the 1990s. Since the BNSF merger this locomotive was renumbered first to 6345 then to 1800 and trading yellow and blue for black and orange. Since renumbering and repainting this locomotive was demoted to 2,999 horsepower making it (and all other SD40-2s on the roster) unfit for road service and now carries an SD39-2 stencil below the front cab walkway. The two stencils on the front anticlimber are "9 INCH MAXIMUM END PLATE HEIGHT" and "YARD OR TRAIL SERVICE ONLY". |

with Soundgardens Black Hole Sun absolutely destroying my ears, I saw the signal light up for a Southbound lead by BNSF 6511, notably there were 2 SD40-2s trailing as well as an older SLSF 3-bay hopper in the consist |
