Title:  NOPSI Streetcars at Carrollton Station
Description:  New Orleans Public Service streetcars 810, 853, 841 and 840 were at Carrollton Station, displaying either ST. CHARLES or TULANE route signs. All of these cars had been built in 1922, the 810 and 853 by Brill, and the 841 and 840 by Perley A. Thomas, and all were scrapped between 1951 and 1955. The last day of operation for the ST. CHARLES and TULANE belt lines was 7 January 1951. (approximate date of photo)

Description:  New Orleans Public Service car 853 was about to turn from Tulane Avenue onto South Carrollton while running on the Tulane Belt. The streetcars on Tulane Avenue were replaced with gasoline buses on 8 January 1951 and these were replaced with%electric buses from 1952 until 1964. (approximate date)
