Built by Lima Locomotive Company in March of 1924 as Baltimore & Ohio 2-10-2 Santa Fe type steam locomotive #6174, it was much later ib 1956 renumbered B&O #522. The loco lasted for nearly 34 years before being scrapped in 1958. Specs - S-1a class, 64" drivers, 220 psi boiler pressure, 30x32" cylinders, engine wt of 434,500 lb, impressive tractive effort of 84,300 lb. This is a Max Miller photo |
