CRIP 4-8-4 #5049 - Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific         
Built for speed, power and versatility by Alco-Schenectady, CRIP 4-8-4 #5049 played a vital role in the Rock Island roster. It served for nearly 22 years before being retired and sold for scrap in July of 1952. Original specs - 69" drivers, impressive 250 psi boiler pressure, 26x32" cylinders, engine weight of 434,000 lb and tractive effort of 66,620 lb.
