Green Brothers 0-6-0 156
This 0-6-0 was built by Lima in March 1924 as Texas & New Orleans 156; and although it had been renumbered 842 in 1953 to clear the 100-series for diesels, its original number was showing on the cab when this photo was taken. The loco had been sold to the Green Brothers in January 1956 for use in the sand and gravel operations on the north side of Lake Pontchartrain, and was last used at Jenkins before being moved and stored at Clifton. The loco is shown here on the north side of Franklinton, as the ICG (former GM&O) branch which had served Clifton was being torn up. It was subsequently placed on display at the Casey Jones Museum in Vaughn, Mississippi in 1984 and then moved to Terry, Mississippi in May 2005.

G Gerard General http://www.steamlocomotive.com/lists/searchdb.php?country=USA&state=MS has this engine as 841. Is this an error? The one in Terry has been numbered 841 from the restoration. You have another photo with 842 in Jenkins. 2/28/2019 11:38:10 PM
Michael Palmieri General This was the same loco that had been at Jenkins, and it was renumbered from 156 to 842 in 1953. T&NO 841 (ex-155) was sold for scrap at Houston in 1954. 4/21/2022 6:48:17 PM
